Tribe Business Magazine and Phillip Morris South Africa Host Women in Innovation Roundtable
Tribe Business Magazine in partnership with Phillip Morris South Africa (PMSA) recently hosted the
‘Women in innovation roundtable’, discussion at the serene Norval Foundation in Tokai, Cape Town.
The roundtable discussion, led by female leaders from diverse industries, focused on innovation and
its relevance to today society, covering various key topics.
The discussion was facilitated by Tribe Business Magazine Editor-in-Chief Evans Manyonga with four
panelists including the Head of Scientific Engagement at PMSA Buhle Binta, the Director of
Corporate Communications at PMSA Vuyokazi Xapa, CEO and founder of Ntsikelelo Business
Solutions Dr Sibongile Vilakazi, and innovative media strategist Noni Sophe from Solar Events.
“This event brought innovation to the forefront by highlighting the importance of bringing diverse
voices to the table. To meet societies needs, we need perspectives from across different industries.
Having female leaders on the panel sends a powerful message to young women—it shows them that
success is possible and makes their dreams feel more achievable. Representation is crucial because
you can’t aspire to what you don’t see,” said Vuyokazi Xapa – Director Corporate Communications
PMSA.
“This is the first roundtable discussion in our series on Innovation. There was no better way to kick
off this series than to have a conversation with the amazing and eloquent women who were present.
I am sure the digital, video and podcast content that will be distributed from this event will have a
lot of impact and inspire more women to gain a closer understanding of innovation and its relevance
today. At Tribe, half of our readers are women, therefore it’s important for us to ensure our readers,
viewers and podcast listeners hear directly from the experts who are active in industry today. This is
invaluable. We thank our partners Phillip Morris South Africa, Volvo South Africa and The Noval
Foundation for making this possible,” noted Evans Manyonga – Editor in Chief of Tribe Business
Magazine.
